Launched in 2015, the Algerian–German Energy Partnership has evolved into a key platform for dialogue, cooperation, and concrete action in the energy sector. Built on a shared vision, the partnership aims to support the development of a stable, sustainable, and future-oriented energy supply for Algeria and Germany. So as 2025 comes close to its end, let's travel back in time and relive this 10 year journey.

For Algeria, the partnership plays an important role in advancing the deployment of renewable energy, improving energy efficiency, and fostering emerging sectors such as green hydrogen. These efforts are supported through knowledge transfer, capacity building, and technological cooperation. For Germany, the partnership strengthens collaboration with a strategic partner in North Africa while promoting the development and dissemination of innovative, clean, and reliable energy solutions.

Over the past decade, cooperation under the Partnership has delivered tangible and measurable results. Joint activities have focused on key areas including solar and wind energyenergy efficiency, and the modernization of electricity networks. In recent years, green hydrogen has emerged as a central pillar of bilateral exchange, reflecting its growing importance in the global energy transition.

These achievements are underpinned by a wide range of concrete actions. They include business matchmaking initiatives to foster investment in the renewable energy sector, study tours and exchange visits, training workshops and capacity-building programs, as well as technical studies on renewable energy, energy efficiency, and green hydrogen. A major milestone was the launch of the Green Hydrogen Task Force in February 2024, designed to expand bilateral economic opportunities through feasibility studies on green hydrogen production, storage, and marketing, in alignment with the 2015 Paris Agreement.

Looking ahead, the Partnership is guided by a clear ambition: to accelerate the deployment of renewable energies, modernize electricity networks, strengthen energy efficiency, and position green hydrogen as a field of excellence within Algerian–German cooperation.
